WEEK 1 — ROOT: Safety, Survival + Belonging
“Where do I come from? Do I have a right to exist?”
The root holds our relationship to safety, security, and the motherline. Here we explore inherited fear, early attachment ruptures, and how the nervous system formed under maternal and patriarchal conditions. We’ll begin to ground into the body and establish the foundations for a new internal sense of safety.
Somatic Focus: Grounding, pelvic awareness, slow rhythm, breath.
Practices may include: Safety mapping, ancestral inquiry, earth-based ritual.
WEEK 2 — SACRAL: Feeling, Pleasure + Boundaries
“Am I allowed to feel good? Is there space for my desires?”
This week opens the waters — exploring the messages we received around emotions, sensuality, shame, and relationship to others. We’ll look at how enmeshment, guilt, or abandonment shaped our boundaries and capacity for pleasure.
We will also explore our relationship to our appearance here, shame and nourishment through food. The ways we might have substituted this also through substance etc.
Somatic Focus: Fluidity, hips, movement, self-touch.
Practices may include: Embodied emotional expression, relational sovreignty, creative play.
WEEK 4 — HEART: Grief, Love + Self-Compassion
“Can I stay open to love without abandoning myself?”
Here we meet the grief of what wasn’t given — and begin to offer it to ourselves. This week honours the paradox of loving our mothers while holding the pain they caused. We soften shame, reconnect with self-compassion, and explore what it means to mother ourselves from a place of unconditional love.
Somatic Focus: Chest, shoulders, nervous system settling, breath.
Practices may include: Heart-opening movement, grief rituals, compassion meditations.
WEEK 3 — SOLAR PLEXUS: Power, Voice + Identity
“Can I be myself and still be loved?”
This centre holds our sense of agency, worth, and individuality. We examine how internalized maternal projections and patriarchal messaging suppressed our confidence, ambition, and anger. This is the place of reclaiming our "NO" and embodying the healthy mother within.
Somatic Focus: Core strength, posture, vocal release, breath of fire.
Practices may include: Rage rituals, confidence-building, inner protector work.
